Our Story
In August of 1958, the first Igreja Cristã Primitiva was founded in Paraná, Brazil, by Pastor Geraldo Tudisco under the direction of God and with the support of his family. To prepare the church’s first sanctuary, Pastor Geraldo Tudisco used his carpentry, metalworking, and construction skills to prepare the church’s pews and build the church from its foundations to its windows. Throughout his life, he raised his family following the values carried in the Bible and strived to guide the church’s members with those same uncorrupted biblical principles as they sought to have a relationship with God. Years later, there are over 70 churches within this denomination through the country of Brazil.
However, the church’s story continues when Pastor Everson Penha, son-in-law of Pastor Geraldo Tudisco, arrives in the United States in 1998. After establishing himself and his family in Framingham, Massachusetts, Pastor Everson (in memoriam) founded the first Igreja Cristã Primitiva in December of the year 2000 under the guidance of the Lord and the support of his family and the Igreja Cristã Primitiva Convention. With the groundwork set, the church flourished and now not only has seven ministries within the institution but is continually growing in numbers, faith, spirit, and unity despite the devastating effects of the pandemic.
Currently, Pastor João Paulo Rodrigues Cardoso and Missionary Edilene Tudisco Penha serve as the leaders of the church and continually preach and live the powerful, life-changing truth of the Gospel. We, as a church, believe in the chain-breaking, miraculous power of the Holy Spirit and will continue the legacy of preaching the Gospel as our Lord Jesus Christ commanded us to do.
